Chengdu's air transportation needs are served by Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. It is located in Shuangliu County, approximately 16 kilometers away to the southwest of the Chengdu downtown area and 20 kilometers from the Chengdu city center. This airport is one of China's main air hubs, serving flights from and to several Chinese cities including Sichuan. It also serves international flights going to Amsterdam, Kathmandu, Osaka, Hong Kong, Osaka, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur. The airport is one of the few Chinese cities that have two commercial runways. Additionally, it can accommodate an Airbus 380, the biggest commercial airplane model at present.
Several passenger airlines are using Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. These include Air China, Air Macau, All Nippon Airways, Asiana Airlines, Beijing Capital Airlines, Chengdu Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Dragonair, China United Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Qatar Airways, Shanghai Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, and Thai Airways International. Flights going to and coming from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau are considered as international flights.

One of the four famous Buddhist Mountains of China and a well-known summer destination. The mountain is characterized by lofty ancient trees, impressive waterfalls, pristine brooks and numerous Buddhist temples.
